Campbell, CA. – May 22, 2007 – G2 Microsystems Inc. today announced that its G2C501 Wi-Fi system-on-chip (SoC) fully supports Cisco's new CCX protocol, enabling Wi-Fi asset tracking companies to quickly develop CCX compliant asset tracking tags. Compliance with this protocol ensures that the location and telemetry information sent by CCX compliant tags over the Cisco Unified Wireless Network will be captured and stored by the location appliance.

The G2C501 fully supports the IEEE 802.11 Wi-Fi standard, the ISO 24730 standard, as well as two chokepoint technologies for location. Additionally, the sensor interfaces integrated into the G2C501 enable it to monitor multiple types of asset conditions, including temperature, humidity, pressure, chemical, security seals, motion, shock, light, and radiation.
