G2 Microsystems Receives 2006 Entrepreneurial Company of the Year Award from Frost & Sullivan

G2 Microsystems Recognized for Product Advancements and Strategic Business Success in Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and Wi-Fi™ Semiconductor Technology for Real Time Location Systems (RTLS)

Campbell, Calif. – October 4, 2006 – G2 Microsystems Inc., a developer of integrated circuits for the asset tracking and telemetry markets, today received the RFID and RTLS Entrepreneurial Company of the Year Award from Frost & Sullivan.  The Company received the award because of its proactive development of a unique RFID and Wi-Fi™ product solution, which is expected to significantly reduce the total cost of ownership of Real-Time Location Systems (RTLS) used for tracking and monitoring assets across vertical industries, such as automotive, chemical, oil and gas, healthcare and transportation.

The Entrepreneurial Company of the Year Award is part of the Frost & Sullivan Best Practices Awards and is presented to a small company each year that demonstrated superior entrepreneurial ability during the research period.  The award signifies the company’s identification of a revolutionary product solution with significant market potential and sound market strategies positioned for success.  Measurement criteria for the award are based on company size, revenue potential, financial and employee resources, competitive strength and a strategic marketing program.

“G2 Microsystems’ product solution successfully addresses key market challenges involving high costs and power consumption concerns that have traditionally impeded the growth rates within the active RFID and RTLS markets.  Furthermore, the flexibility and functionality of G2 Microsystems’ product design across various standards and technology platforms ensure compatibility with present and emergent application needs,” said Priyanka Gouthaman, Research Analyst, Frost & Sullivan. “Frost & Sullivan recognizes the futuristic strategies and technical capabilities of G2 Microsystems’ product technology, which we believe will result in future market shares within the active RFID and RTLS markets.”

G2 Microsystems is a privately held company engaged in the development of integrated circuits for the mobile resource management.   The Company has secured over $22 million in funding and has strategic customer relationships with leading RTLS solution providers as well as network infrastructure companies.  Earlier this year, G2 Microsystems announced the industry’s first Wi-Fi™ active RFID System-on-a-Chip (SoC), which is enabling a commercially viable RTLS platform that ensures expanded functionality at the optimum level of investment.  The ultra low-power SoC also supports the ISO 24730-2 emerging standard and EPC, allowing customers to meet their location accuracy requirements both indoors and outdoors.  G2 Microsystems’ SoC is currently being incorporated into RTLS companies, Ekahau, a provider of Wi-Fi-based RTLS solutions, and PanGo Networks, a provider of asset tracking applications and the PanOS® Location Management Platform.
